Summary

On October 15, 2026, Amazon-owned Bee introduced its first hardware since Amazon acquired it last year. The $74.99 Bee Frontier can be worn on a wrist or pinned to clothing; the $99.99 Bee Eclipse is a credit-card-sized recorder that magnetically mounts behind a smartphone and will follow Frontier’s immediate Amazon release. Frontier undercuts the $159 Plaud Note, $189 Note Pro and $129 Pocket AI device. Frontier comes in Onyx, Lavender and Sage; Eclipse in Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush.

Both devices use AI to turn everyday conversations, classes and medical discussions into summaries, recaps, insights, tasks, calendar invitations and notes. Free accounts receive summaries and 14 days of memory; $11.99 monthly Bee Pro adds unlimited summaries, Amazon.com, Alexa+ and third-party integrations, suggested tasks, daily memories, a chat assistant and templates. Bee processes raw audio live and deletes it; transcripts use encryption keys created and controlled by the user’s device, barring Amazon employees unless the user deliberately shares them. Optional Alexa Voice ID lets Echo recognize the user and record conversations; users can delete transcripts and summaries, request Bee results hands-free and shop through Amazon. Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook connections support emails, meetings and action items, while photo uploads and Apple HealthKit add wellness context. Each device has one power button, a summarizing light, a redesigned mobile app and new desktop app. Frontier adds IP67 water resistance, up to seven days of battery life, USB-C charging and dual microphones with advanced noise filtering.

Positives

  • Bee Frontier’s $74.99 price undercuts the $159 Plaud Note, $189 Note Pro and $129 Pocket AI device.
  • Raw audio is processed in real time and deleted, while device-controlled encryption keys prevent Amazon employees from accessing transcripts unless users share them.
  • Free access includes conversation summaries, recaps and 14 days of memory across all Bee devices.
  • Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook integrations can draft emails, schedule meetings and surface action items.
  • Bee Frontier provides IP67 water resistance, up to seven days of battery life, USB-C charging and dual noise-filtering microphones.
  • Amazon.com, Alexa+, Apple HealthKit and photo integrations broaden Bee’s shopping, productivity and wellness functions.

Risks & concerns

  • Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month to unlock unlimited summaries, integrations, suggested tasks, daily memories, chat and conversation templates.
  • Free users receive only 14 days of memory.
  • Optional Alexa Voice ID allows an Echo device to recognize the user and record conversations for Bee insights.
  • Bee Eclipse is not yet available, with Amazon saying only that it will arrive soon after Frontier.
  • Lecture and medical conversation capture makes careful consent and transcript-sharing decisions particularly important.
