Amazon Turns Prime Video Into a Storefront With X-Ray and Lens Shopping
Amazon adds X-Ray shopping and Lens-powered Shop the Scene to Prime Video, expanding Shop the Show from 1,300 to more than 8,000 U.S. titles nationwide.
Summary
Amazon on September 10, 2026 announced deeper shopping integrations across Prime Video. A forthcoming Shop tab inside X-Ray, which already displays actor biographies, character names and music, will surface products related to thousands of titles when viewers press up on a Fire TV remote. Purchases shift to the Amazon Shopping app, which recognizes the program and opens a product feed synchronized to the current scene. Opening the app can also automatically load a title’s storefront, replacing last year’s easy-to-miss requirement to search “shop the show.”
Shop the Scene, live on iOS and Android for more than 600 U.S. titles, uses Amazon Lens to identify clothing, decor and character-inspired alternatives from an image. Results may not exactly match luxury pieces, handmade costumes or other products unavailable from Amazon and its sellers. Shop the Show is expanding from 1,300 to more than 8,000 U.S. Prime Originals, licensed favorites and live sports. The integrations create another commerce channel as YouTube offers merchandise and connected TV ads, Peacock operates Must ShopTV, Roku supports remote shopping, and Disney tests shoppable ads across Disney+, Hulu and ESPN.
