Meadow’s three-inch square Android companion phone handled Uber, Apple Music and a concert barcode without an iPhone. It runs Maps, Strava, Uber, Apple Music and Spotify, supports Bluetooth and wired audio through a USB C to 3.5mm adapter, and provides calls, texts, a camera, voice memos, notes, location sharing and ticket scanning. Social media and web browsing are excluded because founder Shreyas Narlanka designed Meadow to supplement, not replace, a smartphone.
Users need a Meadow subscription, separate mobile plan and second number. Narlanka suggests customizing the iPhone’s Driving Focus message so urgent contacts know how to reach it. Photos and videos cannot be reviewed on Meadow, appearing later through its app on the main phone, while a mirror beside the rear lens replaces a front camera. Daylight photos were good, concert shots poor. Battery life and outdoor visibility held up, although the display was overly bright in dim spaces and the square body felt less comfortable than an iPhone. An Uber trip status glitch encountered during testing has been fixed.
As of September 25, 2026, Meadow had shipped only its first bulk batch to preorder customers. Narlanka, 25, left UC San Diego in 2020 after Scoutapp AI gained traction, and StockX later acquired the online inventory platform. His first hardware startup raised funding in December 2024, led by Alana Goyal of basecase capital, with Terrence Rohan, Discord founding CMO Eros Resmini, Vercel founder Guillermo Rauch and Diagram founder Jordan Singer participating. Pricing and wider availability remain undisclosed.
