MyMonthlyCar Targets Idle Used Cars With Month-to-Month Rentals

MyMonthlyCar turns idle dealer inventory into monthly rentals, charging each side 10% and targeting $300,000 in its first operating year.

Summary

MyMonthlyCar connects drivers needing cars for several months with millions of depreciating used vehicles across 76,000 U.S. dealerships. The Delaware-registered, Florida-based platform offers only month-to-month rentals, plus optional rent-to-own arrangements. Listings are free, but dealers and customers each pay a separate 10% transaction fee. Seven dealerships are testing the service while an insurance broker finalizes coverage, dealers’ leading concern about insurance and liability. Operations are scheduled to begin later in 2026 after the insurance program launches.

Ukrainian co-founders Igor Dobrianskyi, CPO Kostiantyn Gitko and CTO Vadym Zotov target 100 dealerships, 2,000 monthly rentals and $300,000 in first-year revenue, followed by $42 million over five years. Dobrianskyi previously owned a Ukrainian rental company and launched peer-to-peer marketplace SizeCar in 2016, expanding the Turo-like service to 40 European cities. MyMonthlyCar remains bootstrapped without venture capital and plans a seed round to hire developers and build an AI tool that recommends which cars dealers should rent. The startup joined the 2026 Startup Battlefield 200 and will exhibit in San Francisco from October 13 to 15.

Positives

  • Seven dealerships have signed up to test MyMonthlyCar before its planned launch later in 2026.
  • Free listings reduce the barrier for dealerships, while rent-to-own could convert renters into used-car buyers.
  • SizeCar reached 40 European cities after Igor Dobrianskyi launched the peer-to-peer marketplace in 2016.
  • First-year targets envision 100 dealerships, 2,000 monthly rentals and $300,000 in revenue.
  • Startup Battlefield 200 selected MyMonthlyCar for its 2026 cohort and an October 13 to 15 exhibition in San Francisco.

Risks & concerns

  • MyMonthlyCar cannot begin operations until its insurance broker finalizes the platform’s coverage program.
  • Insurance and liability remain dealers’ leading concerns, making coverage critical to dealership adoption.
  • Only seven dealerships are testing the service, far short of the first-year target of 100.
  • The bootstrapped company has raised no venture capital and needs seed funding to expand development.
  • Month-to-month rentals exclude short-term customers, while dealers and renters each face a separate 10% transaction fee.
