PearX Demo Day: 5 AI Startups Winning VC Attention
PearX’s latest demo day spotlighted five startups spanning 3D AI, edge chips, private assistants, digital trusts and industrial design, drawing VC interest.
Summary
Pear VC’s 12 week PearX accelerator presented 16 startups at its San Francisco demo day in the week before October 5, 2026. The pre seed and seed investor caps cohorts at 20, offers no standard terms, can invest up to $2 million and says companies remain undisclosed until demo day, unlike Y Combinator. Earlier graduates include voice dating matcher Known, funded by Forerunner Ventures, and audit and compliance automation company Andera, which raised a $37 million Series A from Lightspeed this summer.
Five companies drew the strongest investor interest. Speridlabs’ Mundus, pitched as a 3D Midjourney, provides persistent, editable geometry for robotics, gaming and special effects, unlike systems from Runway, Odyssey and Google’s Genie. Saia says its flash based inference chip avoids scarce, power intensive memory, offers eight times Nvidia Jetson’s capacity with four times less power and much faster speeds, is discussing memory integration with Samsung, will fabricate test chips in 2027 and targets mass production in 2028. Founder Ayaan Govil is 20, while backer Mar Hershenson is a semiconductor engineer with a circuit design PhD. Ren’s Muse and Instinct style assistant keeps data on device or in a secure private cloud, enforces user guardrails and automates calls without human operators. Veros uses AI for trust structures and lifelong asset management, has $250 million in assets under management and is seeking a trust charter. Datum indexes corporate 3D design libraries, using proprietary Geometric Fingerprint shape matching to find reusable parts and automate industrial engineering.
Positives
- Veros already manages $250 million in assets while pursuing a charter to become a regulated trust company.
- Saia targets test chip fabrication in 2027 and mass production in 2028, with Samsung memory integration discussions underway.
- Speridlabs’ Mundus preserves 3D geometry through edits, supporting robotics, gaming and special effects applications.
- Ren automates phone calls without human operators while applying user guardrails and prioritizing local data storage.
- Datum’s Geometric Fingerprint technology finds existing parts by shape, potentially reducing duplicated industrial design work.
Risks & concerns
- Saia has not fabricated test chips yet, and semiconductor development remains difficult, expensive and execution intensive.
- Saia’s speed, capacity and power advantages over Nvidia Jetson remain claims made before planned 2027 test fabrication.
- Speridlabs competes with established world model developers including Runway, Odyssey and Google’s Genie.
- Veros still needs a trust charter before it can operate as a regulated trust company itself.
- Ren sometimes relies on a private cloud when on device processing is not possible, despite its privacy focused positioning.
