Summary

At least two dozen companies now sell AI agent security, covering tool and MCP vetting, data access, runtime monitoring, device detection and unapproved AI use. CrowdStrike is building device level detection and response, while Reco has expanded beyond mapping and securing SaaS and AI platforms. Its context graph connects agents with apps, people, accounts and permissions. Reco found 21,000 unknown agents at one Fortune 100 customer and an ex employee’s agent accessing Salesforce and sharing data with an unseen domain at a large financial services company. HiddenLayer CEO Chris Sestito said more than 50 customers have production agents touching critical systems and sensitive assets, while Cymphony found about 85,000 files accessible to AI tools and agents at a U.S. public company.

Reco announced a $55 million raise on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, following a $30 million Series B in February and bringing total capital raised to $140 million. Customer AT&T invested through its venture arm alongside Forestay and Quadrille Capital. CEO Ofer Klein said Reco’s valuation has more than doubled into the high hundreds of millions. Annual recurring revenue is in the double digit millions and expected to triple this year. Reco has more than 100 customers, with financial services contributing about 40% of business.

Reco integrates with more than 280 apps, says it can add integrations within days, and uses browser and network signals to discover agents beyond directly connected apps. Its controls inspect prompts and tool calls. The funding will support hiring, sales, partnerships and customer support as Reco competes in an increasingly crowded market.

Positives

  • The $55 million raise brings Reco’s total funding to $140 million, following its $30 million Series B in February.
  • Reco’s valuation has more than doubled into the high hundreds of millions, while annual recurring revenue is expected to triple this year.
  • More than 280 app integrations give Reco broad coverage, with additional integrations available within days.
  • Over 100 customers use Reco, and AT&T reinforced its commercial relationship by investing through its venture arm.

Risks & concerns

  • 21,000 undiscovered agents at one Fortune 100 company show that enterprise deployments can exceed security teams’ visibility.
  • An ex employee’s agent could access Salesforce and share data with a domain the financial services company could not see.
  • About 85,000 files at one U.S. public company had become accessible to AI tools and agents, Cymphony found.
  • At least two dozen competing vendors offer overlapping agent discovery and governance claims, making differentiation difficult for Reco and purchasing complex for CISOs.
