Sila Wins $1.4 Billion Pentagon Loan for Silicon Battery Expansion

The Pentagon also awarded Sunrise Energy Metals, an Australian scandium miner, a $400 million loan; Minnesota-based Niron Magnetics received $150 million for rare earth-free magnets used in smartphones, missiles and electric motors; and Strategic Bauxite received an $85 million equity investment for mining aluminum-bearing bauxite.
