Unitree’s $4,017 Go2 Pro Reveals China’s Robot Cost Advantage

Unitree's $4,017 Go2 Pro shows how cheap Chinese robots are reshaping quadrupeds and humanoids, despite rough software, overheating and new U.S. curbs.

Shares jumped over fivefold at its August 19, 2026 Shanghai debut; Monday’s $34 billion value remained above triple its pre-IPO valuation. AgiBot recently outsold Unitree in humanoids; Tesla, Figure and 1X sell none to consumers. A bipartisan June House bill targeted Chinese robot imports, and July FCC rules threaten Unitree’s U.S. access, risking global leadership shifting to China as with BYD electric vehicles.
