Summary

On Nov. 3, 2026, NVIDIA and partners expanded GTC Berlin’s physical and agentic AI initiatives worldwide. Shared computing lets departments, municipalities and developers reuse infrastructure while governments control sensitive data; some services require only RTX workstations or small GPU systems.

In Spain, 1MillionBot combines Barcelona Supercomputing Center-trained open source ALIA models with NVIDIA Nemotron for Madrid Digital, Comunidad de Madrid, Administració Oberta de Catalunya and 150+ deployments covering procedures, appointments, planning incidents and inquiries. LiveX uses Cosmos, Nemotron, Omniverse and Metropolis on RTX PRO GPUs for multilingual Bay Area hosts serving airports, hospitals, events and public spaces. Wrocław’s K2K combines NVIDIA accelerated computing, Cosmos and the Metropolis video search and summarization Blueprint for mobility, safety and event response. Malaysia’s ITMAX offers managed traffic services; Cosmos, Nemotron and Metropolis-based SamurAI V2 agents will support 17,000+ cameras on RTX PRO 6000 GPUs by 2027, while Laplace Intelligence’s open source TeraSim testing reduced peak corridor travel times up to 26%.

At Dangote’s Lekki refinery in Nigeria, Honeywell Technologies’ Forge Plant Cognition uses Nemotron agents on Dell PowerEdge servers with RTX PRO accelerators to find bottlenecks and anticipate issues; an Omniverse twin is planned for simulation and training. Taiwan’s Linker Vision and MVRDV use Omniverse and Nemotron ESG agents to simulate 15-year urban forest outcomes in 10 minutes, cutting iteration from two weeks to under an hour. Morocco’s Cires Technologies is expanding Tanger Med’s sovereign AI factory for worker safety, congestion, cargo routing and port operations, while cultivating local application providers. BSC AI Factory’s Accelerator Programme offers startups sovereign computing, support and training for agriculture, medical imaging, knowledge access and speech. At Barcelona’s Smart City Expo World Congress, Nov. 3-5, NVIDIA EMEA Vice President Paolo Guglielmini will keynote before a panel moderated by NVIDIA EMEA smart city and spaces director Charbel Aoun.

Positives

  • TeraSim signal testing reduced peak-hour corridor travel times by up to 26% for ITMAX’s Malaysian traffic services.
  • Linker Vision and MVRDV cut urban forest planning iterations from two weeks to under an hour.
  • 1MillionBot has deployed resident-service agents more than 150 times across Spain, including for Madrid and Catalonia.
  • SamurAI V2 is scaling on RTX PRO 6000 GPUs to support more than 17,000 cameras by 2027.
  • BSC AI Factory gives startups sovereign computing, technical support and training across four research and service fields.
  • Shared infrastructure lets multiple departments and municipalities build AI services without separately acquiring and managing computing resources.

Risks & concerns

  • Support for more than 17,000 ITMAX cameras remains a 2027 target rather than a completed deployment.
  • Dangote’s Omniverse digital twin is still planned, leaving its simulation and training capabilities unfinished.
  • Cities still struggle to convert large volumes of camera, sensor and operational data into useful action.
  • Sensitive municipal data requires local governments to retain control over how information is processed and used.
  • Several projects depend on shared infrastructure or long-term managed services rather than independently operated city systems.
